To The Feminists from The Bible. with Love .
If there are two things we can say about our society, It is that we are a society that hates women and children. We build child-free restaurants, abortion centers, resorts and condominiums that are child free. As some often say, “oh those chauvinists that hate women”. Even women hate women; someone recently put it to me that the people who hate women most are “feminists”. I use that word in quotes because I believe a certain class of people who have adopted that name are not fit bearers of that name.
See, they want women to be men. They believe that any woman who wants to be a house wife or is comfortable remaining in her home and raise God fearing children, and support her husband in his endeavours to provide for her family is a failure. Any woman like that is looked down upon and to be honest my heart goes out to her. In one way or another I could even say I know this from personal experience, having come across a lot of stay-at-home mothers throughout my life so far and hearing them share the challenges they go through.
So the first reference I put out to them on this mattter would be Genesis 1:27 “God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them”. We first have to recognise that the man and the woman were both created in the image of God and we can draw a conclusion from this that they are essentially equal, so the roles they play in life and in marriages have nothing to do with a lack of equality. When we will begin to look at the point where we examine the biblical concept that a man is the head of the home and that a woman is to submit, it does not mean that the wife is less than her husband. If you think it does, then as a Christian, you are wrong. If anything then you have a misguided perception of the trinity. Because, did not The Son submit to The Father? Does that then make the son less than the father? If you say yes, then again you have just committed heresy because the scripture says The Son and The Father are one and hence are equal. John 10:30 “I and my Father are one.”
So the contention has been that women have to have the same roles for them to be equal, but I put to them that they are wrong. By doing that they are denying the fact that men and women are different as made by the creator. We are different and we were meant for different roles, but we are equal and made in the image of God. When God blessed them “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it” in Genesis 1:28 he also gave that command to the woman, but in fulfilling the command we have different roles.
