To The Feminists from The Bible. with Love .

January 26 2014 , Written by The Thinker

If there are two things we can say about our society, It is that we are a society that hates women and children. We build child-free restaurants, abortion centers, resorts and condominiums that are child free. As some often say, “oh those chauvinists that hate women”.  Even women hate women; someone recently put it to me that the people who hate women most are “feminists”. I use that word in quotes because I believe a certain class of people who have adopted that name are not fit bearers of that name.

See, they want women to be men. They believe that any woman who wants to be a house wife or is comfortable remaining in her home and raise God fearing children, and support her husband in his  endeavours  to provide for  her family is a failure. Any woman like that is looked down upon and to be honest my heart goes out to her. In one way or another I could even say I know this from personal experience, having come across a lot of stay-at-home mothers throughout my life so far and hearing them share the challenges they go through.

So the first reference I put out to them on this mattter would be Genesis 1:27 “God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them”. We first have to recognise that the man and the woman were both created in the image of God and we can draw a conclusion from this that they are essentially equal, so the roles they play in life and in marriages have nothing to do with a lack of equality. When we will begin to look at the point where we examine the biblical concept that a man is the head of the home and that a woman is to submit, it does not mean that the wife is less than her husband. If you think it does, then as a Christian, you are wrong. If anything then you have a misguided perception of the trinity. Because, did not The Son submit to The Father? Does that then make the son less than the father? If you say yes, then again you have just committed heresy because the scripture says The Son and The Father are one and hence are equal. John 10:30 “I and my Father are one.”

So the contention has been that women have to have the same roles for them to be equal, but I put to them that they are wrong. By doing that they are denying the fact that men and women are different as made by the creator. We are different and we were meant for different roles, but we are equal and made in the image of God. When God blessed them “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it” in Genesis 1:28 he also gave that command to the woman, but in fulfilling the command we have different roles.

What you failed to bring out is that a feminist SUPPORTS whatever it is another woman does, we support the woman who is independent and single AND the house wife as well, as long as it is her choice and she has full consent in the matter. Both women and men have their roles in society, what feminists seek is equal opportunities and justice for the injustice they face. What you described as in your blog is not a feminist but a sexist. I do recognize that there are radical feminists who are sexist and do not appreciate the woman who stays at home BUT they do so as they feel a woman is oppressed in a family. HOWEVER there are different types of feminists which you did not bring out and only focused on the sexist type which does not bring out the true essence of feminism.

I strongly disagree with your view on feminism, it is narrow and defaces a movement started to aid the oppression of women from being regarded as second class human beings... not "trying to be men"

It might help to remember that my views on feminist have not been shared or discussed in this article in full, my concern is that, women have labored decade after decade to fight the injustices they have faced and some individuals have risen up under the same banner of "feminism" and are trying to undo the work that they have done. I believe a true feminists fight is for women to be able to be comfortable taking any role , without having to experience stigma. That means, they should be able to sit in an office and pursue a career or sit at home and pursue traditional family life without having to feel negative pressure, pushing them in either direction. This "feminists" who I am pointing a finger at , are not in the business of fighting for women but are having a negative effect on societal perceptions of feminism. Now people do not think of women in offices as women comfortable in their element , but as women trying to be men, and that is what I am raising as a pertinent concern. I hope that airs out the dust clouding your perception of my view on feminism.
